Nursing students must be prepared to care for diverse patient populations, including sexual and gender minorities. The purpose of this study was to conduct a national survey of graduating nursing students to assess their perceived preparedness for and comfort level with providing care for LGBTQ+ patients. Specific aims were to examine participant variables in addition to participants’ perceived preparedness and comfort levels regarding the provision of care for this patient population. Resources and strategies will be discussed to incorporate LGBTQ+ healthcare topics in nursing programs
