Deb Smith, MSN, RNC is a dedicated healthcare professional and educator with over two decades of experience in nursing and healthcare education. She currently serves as the Associate Dean of Allied Health and Director of Nursing at North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS) in Wahpeton, ND. In this role, Deb oversees the development and implementation of nursing curricula and leads initiatives to improve educational outcomes for nursing students. Her leadership has been instrumental in advancing the college's nursing programs and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards.
Deb earned her Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Nursing Education from the University of Mary in 2016, where her thesis focused on integrating the Academic Health Record into nursing curricula. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and an Associate of Science in Practical Nursing, reflecting a strong foundation in clinical and academic training. Her clinical expertise spans neonatal intensive care, pediatric nursing, and medical-surgical care. As a Registered Nurse and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) flight nurse, Deb has worked in various healthcare settings providing specialized care for critically ill infants and children. She has also served as a clinical educator at Sanford Health, designing and implementing professional development programs for healthcare staff. Throughout her career, Deb has demonstrated a passion for healthcare, education, and community involvement, making her a respected leader in the nursing field.
