Dr. Lovey Reynolds is a dedicated nurse scientist, educator, and clinician with a wealth of experience in nursing education, workforce development, and community health. She is a Tenure-Track Nursing Faculty member at Malcolm X College and a sexual assault nurse examiner (SANE). Dr. Reynolds earned her PhD in Curriculum Studies from DePaul University College of Education, complementing her MSN with a concentration in Nursing Education from Indiana Wesleyan University. She also holds a Family Nurse Practitioner Post-Masters Certificate from DePaul University School of Nursing. Dr. Reynolds has Pediatric Nursing (CPN) and Nurse Education (CNE) certifications.
In addition to her academic and clinical roles, Dr. Reynolds is an active leader in various professional organizations, including the Philippine Nurses Association of Illinois (PNAI) Board of Directors, the American Nurses Association—Illinois Programs Committee, and the Institute of Pediatric Nursing (IPN) Committee. She also Chairs the MXC Nursing Scholarship Committee and MXC Race and Culture Committee. Dr. Reynolds has presented various nursing education topics at conferences such as the ICN, OADN, and MNRS Conferences. She has ongoing research projects and programs highlighting a proactive approach to addressing the challenges and opportunities within nursing education and community health. By engaging in community-engaged translational research, her research program focuses on nursing education, workforce transition, and academic-clinical partnerships.
