Dr. Taylor is an experience nurse and educator with over 25 years experience in healthcare. She began her healthcare career as a aquatic rehab specialist working with pediatric head trauma patients. After completing her BSN, she transitioned to maternal newborn and community health nursing. It was during this time that she served as county nurse coordinator for the American Red Cross, as well as a breastfeeding and lactation educator and preceptor for BSN students.
When Dr. Taylor transitioned to nursing education, she began in an LPN dual enrollment program as fulltime faculty and academic success coordinator. She established the first simulation lab at her college and was a member of the inaugural cohort for the MS Simulation in Healthcare Alliance. Following the completion of her MSN, Dr. Taylor served in faculty and administrative roles for the LPN and RN programs at her college, receiving the 2012 OADN faculty development award. She was also appointed to the AWHONN Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C. and served as a chapter director in Mississippi for 2 years.
Her research during her time as a DNP student focused on concept-based teaching and learning strategies. Upon completion of her DNP and CNE, Dr. Taylor remained passionate about teaching and learning strategies, as well as best practices for faculty development and active learning.
In her current role at ATI, Dr. Taylor is a nursing education consultant specializing in program evaluation and accreditation management, faculty development, and is a maternal newborn subject matter expert.
Dr. Taylor holds the following degrees and certifications:
DNP in Educational Leadership from American Sentinel University, MSN with a concentration in Women’s Health and Education from University of Alabama-Birmingham, BS (Nursing) and BS (Exercise Physiology) from Mississippi University for Women; Certified Nurse Educator (NLN)
