Princeton
Beth Toner is Director of Program Communications for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF). Beth has more than 30 years of experience in marketing and corporate communications. She is also a registered nurse with clinical experience in long-term care and community health settings. In her current role, Beth leads a team of communications professionals who provide strategic communications support for RWJF programs, who work together to advance health equity for all Americans. She finds her work at RWJF to be the perfect blend of her two passions: communications and healthcare. “I chose nursing as a second career because I care deeply about making a difference in the lives of people when they are at their most vulnerable,” she says. “This role allows me to do that in a systemic way.” Beth earned her associate's degree in nursing from Delaware County Community College, a bachelor of arts degree from Messiah College (University), and her MSN from Eastern Mennonite University; she also holds a master of journalism from Temple University and master of fine arts degree from Dominican University of California.
