Shea Walker serves as the Assistant Director of Nursing at Georgia Highlands College, bringing a wealth of clinical expertise in critical care, medical and nursing simulation management, and pre-licensure nursing education. Passionate about student engagement, she excels at fostering active learning environments that enhance student success. Shea has led and coordinated numerous institutional initiatives, including chairing the Concept-Based Curriculum and Test-Item Writing Committees, organizing disaster simulations, and spearheading the inaugural Evidence-Based Practice Symposium to highlight student-driven practice change projects at Georgia Highlands College.
She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Organization for Associate Degree Nursing (OADN), the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Shea also holds leadership roles as the North Region Director for the Georgia Association of Nurse Educators (GANE), Secretary of the Georgia Association of Deans and Directors, and a member of the OADN nominating committee.
