Dr. Lynnsie Mims is an NLN Certified Nurse Educator with a passion for shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals. She earned her DNP in Nurse Education from Regis College, where her doctoral research focused on improving minority nursing student retention. Throughout her 18-year nursing career, she has worked in long-term care, adult acute care with a focus in medical-surgical and cardiac nursing, emergency services, and post-anesthesia care. In 2019, she began her role as nurse faculty at Calhoun Community College.
Dr. Mims is passionate about meeting the needs of diverse learners and is particularly interested in enhancing nursing education through innovative teaching strategies and simulation-based learning. She is dedicated to mentoring both students and new nurse educators. Outside of the classroom, she participates in professional development activities through hosting campus workshops and contributes to nursing scholarship through presentations and involvement in nursing organizations.
Dr. Mims enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and two daughters.
