Dr. Kelly Hampton is a certified nurse educator currently serving as the Department Chair and Assistant Professor at Ivy Tech Sellersburg School of Nursing. With 25 years of nursing experience, Kelly is passionate about nurturing the next generation of nurses through innovative teaching methods and immersive, hands-on learning experiences. She takes great pride in teaching at Ivy Tech, where she began her nursing journey by earning her associate degree.
Dr. Hampton holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana University Southeast and a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Nursing Leadership in Health Services from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. She earned her Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Maryville University of Saint Louis. In addition to her academic credentials, she is certified as an Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner and is a licensed Health Facility Administrator.
Outside of her educational commitments, Dr. Hampton is engaged in community service as a hospice volunteer. Additionally, she is currently participating in a community Master Gardener program, reflecting her belief in the healing power of nature. Dr. Hampton is passionate about the transformative role of education, dedicating herself to cultivating compassionate, skilled, and knowledgeable nurses ready to tackle modern healthcare's complexities.
