Kalaine Weatherly MSN, RN is an Associate Professor of Nursing at the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College, and a practicing nurse at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. I received my undergraduate and graduate education in nursing at the University of Cincinnati, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Twenty-six years of my nursing career have been spent working in a level IV, Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU). I have witnessed many exciting and positive advancements in the fields of neonatology and fetal medicine during this time. During my twelve-years in academia, I've taught in my specialty area of pediatrics, and in acute care medical-surgical courses. My continued clinical involvement supports development of innovative teaching strategies, and assists me in empowering students through the delivery of practical, real-world knowledge and meaningful skills, that will allow them to reach their potential as future health care providers.
