Dr. Marci Dial is a Tenured Professor of Nursing and Course Leader at Valencia College in Orlando, Florida. She has 28 years of clinical nursing experience and 19 years of experience as an educator in the academic setting. She has been a Volunteer Faculty member for the University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Medicine since 2010. In 2023, she earned a PhD in Nursing from the University of Central Florida (UCF) with a research interest in mindfulness and simulation-based learning (SBL). In 2012, she completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a concentration in advanced practice at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). She continues to work in clinical practice, serving in a community-based clinic in Central Florida. Dr. Dial is a Peace and Justice Practitioner through the Peace and Justice Institute (PJI) of Central Florida and is part of the healthcare sector for Creating Resilient Communities (CRC) network. She is active in several professional nursing organizations, including the American Nurses Association (ANA), the Florida Nurses Association (FNA), the National League for Nursing (NLN), Endorsement Reviewer for the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL), and was a submission reviewer on the Home-Grown Solutions (HGS) Committee for INACSL, and is a member of the Organization for Associate Degree Nurses (OADN) Simulation Task Force. Dr. Dial completed the NLN Leadership Development for Simulation Educators in 2017. She recently contributed to developing the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) Blueprint Reference Manual.
